Your farm keeps growing after you walk away. Place a Chunk Anchor and its chunk stays loaded and ticking: crops, furnaces and redstone keep running with nobody nearby. You get two per player, and they go idle while you're away.
Craft it and drop it in the chunk you want kept alive. It glows while it's holding the chunk and goes dark when it's idle. Use it at any time to see the chunk's edge traced in particles, so you know exactly what's covered. Break it and the chunk is released.
Click chunks to place or break your anchors. Farm chunks only grow while they're held. Try a third anchor, then log your owner off and run the clock past the grace period.
It's a plain block with one on/off state, used only for its model and light. There's no ticker and nothing to update.
It uses Forge's own chunk tickets. They're saved with the world and re-checked at load, so a leftover ticket can't linger.
One chunk per anchor and two anchors per player, across every dimension. Forced chunks can never exceed players × 2.
When an owner has been gone past the grace period, every anchor they own releases its chunk. They all wake when that owner logs back in.
The offline clock runs on real time, so it keeps counting through server restarts.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
anchorsPerPlayer | 2 | How many anchors each player can have placed, across all dimensions (0–64). |
tickChunks | true | On, the chunk ticks fully, as if a player were standing in it. Off, it stays loaded but machines pause. This is cheaper. |
offlineGraceMinutes | 30 | How long after the owner logs off before their anchors go idle. 0 releases on logout; −1 never releases (the costliest option). |
An anchor that was placed without an owner stays inactive until a player uses it and claims it.
