A survivor in tactical armor fires an assault rifle down a burning ruined street
FOK MOD 03 · v1.3.0 · Built on TaCZ

Protocol

Every gun is earned, and every gun wears out. Find guns in the ruins, grind them into blueprints, and upgrade their parts from Common to Legendary. Keep them clean too, because a dirty gun jams at the worst moment.

The guns come from TaCZ

Kaos Protocol is an add-on, not a gun mod. The guns themselves, the shooting, recoil, reloads, animations and attachments all come from Timeless and Classics Zero (TaCZ), made by the TaCZ team. We build on top of it: blueprint progression, part quality, durability, fouling and jams, repairs and noise.

TaCZ is required, and the Federation Of Kaos pack installs it for you. Every gun you pick up is their work. Go show them some love.

01 · Progression

Find it. Grind it.
Learn it.

The Gunsmith Table won't make a gun you haven't learned. Loot one from the ruins, then grind it down with a diamond to get its schematic. Once you've learned a gun you can craft it for good. Only the Glock 17 is unlocked from the start. Pick a gun below:

02 · Part quality

Common to
Legendary

Every gun has a Barrel, an Action and a Frame, and each one is graded. Loot starts all-Common. Upgrade parts drop from high-tier chests and Special Infected, and you fit them at the Gun Upgrade Bench. Damage follows your worst part, so upgrade all three.

03 · Durability & jams

Treat it well
or it fails you

Every shot costs durability and dirties the action. Once a gun drops below 30% condition, or builds up a lot of fouling, it starts to jam, up to a 35% chance per shot. Your first gun is a Glock at 2%. Try firing it.

Keep it running.

The Gun Repair Table turns iron into durability and clears jams and fouling for free. Upgrade it into a Gun Upgrade Bench to swap parts. Take a Cleaning Kit on the road for the long runs.

05 · Noise

Loud gets you killed

Every shot sends out noise. Outbreak Protocol's infected hear it and come looking, and the Director (the unseen AI that paces the outbreak) adds it to the budget that decides when the horde comes. A suppressor cuts the radius by 75% — and the quiet is paid for. Every suppressed shot hits for 15% less, and under Realism the gas blown back into the action fouls the gun twice as fast, so the Cleaning Kit comes out every 75 rounds instead of 150.
